When you hypnotize yourself, you are entering a naturally occurring state of mind. We can also call this trance, and it is something that we do many times every day without consciously knowing it. Perhaps one minute you were reading something from your computer screen or doing something important, and before you knew it, your mind just wandered off somewhere else for a time.
Self Hypnosis is done without the aid of a hypnotist and it will allow you to enjoy wonderful experiences and make meaningful changes in you life. You can do things like; quit smoking, lose weight, cure insomnia and emotional issues.
If you perform self hypnosis, you can directly program your unconscious with suggestions and affirmations that would otherwise have to run through critical processes in your mind and may have been discarded. You can harness the power of this programming as an incredibly effective method to make all kind of personal improvements. It certainly helps to find yourself a quiet place, but the great thing is, with practice, you can do it anywhere.
To hypnotize yourself all you need to do is find yourself somewhere where you won’t be disturbed. Make sure that your mobile phone is turned off and that you are either sitting or laying down in a completely relaxed posture. Next, focus all of your attention on a spot on the wall, as you do that repeat to yourself the change that you want to make. When you hypnotize yourself it’s important to use affirming change statements. That is, statements like I want to lose 5 kg (that is of course if you want to lose weight). I’m just using that as an example. Statements like,I” don’t want to be fat” do not help the subconscious mind, we want statements that head in the direction of our goals. Another example would be “I want to be able to remember things better” or “I want a better memory”. Again saying things like “I don’t want to forget things” will not give you full benefit. So as you continue to focus all of your attention on that spot on the wall repeat the affirming statement over and over in the mind. Take a deep breath in and let it out still focusing on the spot. Keep doing this deeper slow rhythmic breathing repeating your affirming statement. Close your eyes and just completely relax. Allow your mind to empty and just have the affirming statement in your mind. Do this for a 5-10 minutes.
If you find this difficult it is possible to either listen to a self hypnosis CD which will allow you to have changes made without using auto suggestion or you could get a hypnotist to install a hypnosis induction trigger which will allow you to induce self hypnosis with either a word or thought or combination of the two.
Once you learn hypnosis it is a skill that you can use your entire life. Not many people know that you can do covert hypnosis without anyone knowing!
